Ingredients (Makes 13 Lip Scrubs)
1 TB Beeswax
½ TB Shea Butter
½ TB Cocoa Butter
½ TB Olive Oil
½ TB Avocado Oil
1 tsp Vitamin E
5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
2 TB Organic Sugar
Instructions
Step 1 – Melt the base
Add the beeswax, shea butter, and cocoa butter to your double boiler. Gently heat until fully melted, stirring occasionally.
Step 2 – Blend in the oils
Remove from heat. Stir in the olive oil, avocado oil, and vitamin E. Mix thoroughly.
Step 3 – Add peppermint and sugar
Once the mixture has cooled slightly but is still pourable, add the peppermint essential oil and organic sugar. Stir until well combined.
Step 4 – Pour and set
Carefully pour the scrub into clean containers. You may have to warm slightly after adding sugar to make pourable. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature before sealing.
How to Use
Use 2–3 times per week, preferably in the evening. Apply a small amount to clean lips and gently massage in circular motions for 20–30 seconds. Rinse with warm water and follow with a hydrating lip balm. Avoid use on cracked or bleeding lips.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Shelf life is approximately 3–4 months.
Additional Tips
If the sugar settles while pouring, gently stir before it fully sets. For a firmer scrub, increase the beeswax slightly. For a softer texture, reduce it by half a teaspoon.
